Giving Back After BHLP

Biggest Contribution

Biggest Contribution

My biggest contribution to my BHLP team and my community is not a physical project or deliverable like the ways most tiers ended. Rather, I plan to use BHLP's teachings in my future educational and professional career. I also plan to refer my colleagues to the program if they become interested during their undergraduate careers. During my interview with BDO, I was inquired about the BHLP when my interviewer saw it on my resume. I took the time to talk about each tier, its lessons, and how it has helped me in my school career; I was offered my internship the next day. The program cannot thrive without the amazing people that keep in running. By raising awareness about the BHLP, more strong leaders will enter the workforce.

Legacy

When I leave BHLP, I want to leave a legacy by the classic expression "leading by example". As a current RSO leader who oversees underclassmen, I want to ensure my BHLP knowledge reaches them. During one Riot Act meeting, I decided to introduce the idea of True Colors to further understand our members and see what kind of leaders they will be. This could make running the group even more peaceful and understanding than it already is. Showing my strengths as a leader will inspire those I lead to do the very same.

What's Ahead?

What's Ahead?

Currently, I still have one more year of college to finish, an internship coming up in a few months, and a whole new year of experiences to look forward to. For my internship in June, I will turn them to this portfolio to give a better understanding of the organization to further show the skills that my resume didn't have room to explain. I will continue to analyze leaders, putting my Green traits to work, and see how they dismantle conflict, treat other group members, and carry themselves to determine if their leadership is something to look fondly upon or something that needs help developing. Just because I will soon be out of school, education doesn't stop in the classroom. In a world full of different people and personalities, there are always ways to be a great leader.
