Moving past the True Colors assessment from the previous tier, the Strengths and Shadows assessment goes a step further to compare both the best and worst parts of a leader's personality within a group dynamic.
Upon successful completion of Tier 1, Tier 2 is focused on transitioning from the focus of the Self to the focus of the Group. Now that the participants have a better understanding of their leadership styles, they are grouped with other members to learn about working in a team dynamic and using the skills they learn to complete a community outreach project.
It's crucial to have a clear mission when becoming involved in community matters. Learning about Friendship House not only influenced my passion in the project, but also educated me about a very raw national issue.
I had the privilege to work with brilliant, driven BHLP members to accomplish this project. We had a strong plan and bond with each other from the beginning, which I credit to being the main reason for our project's success.
Every project comes with its own successes and challenges. Did my group and I learn anything valuable from this experience?
